A Jeep Jamboree is a gathering of Jeep owners and their vehicles, where the Jeep Lifestyle is embraced and celebrated. Come along and meet people who love the Jeep brand, love their Jeeps and are as passionate as you are.
When Is the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree?
The 2021 National Jeep Jamboree will be held over the long weekend from Thursday 1st April to Tuesday 6th April 2021.
Where will the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree be held?
The home for the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree will be the iconic Victorian High Country in the Australian Alps. The final venue will be confirmed shortly.
What activities will be held at the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree?
The organising committee is still preparing the activity list but expect to have a full schedule on each day. Driving activities will include whole day and half-day trips accommodating a diverse range from sightseeing to extreme, together with trips to local attractions such as wineries, markets and to the nearby mountain resorts. On-site activities will likely include Displays of new Jeep models supported by FCA, Displays by other Jeep owners and clubs, A workshop area where you can get tips and tricks on maintaining your Jeep from the experts, A Show and Shine on Sunday morning, Easter egg hunt and other games on Sunday, Sunday night social dinner with entertainment, Flex ramp for those who want to see how much droop they have, trade alley where suppliers to the Jeep community can tell you all about their latest products, merchandise sales, awards and more.
What will the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree cost me?
Each adult attending the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree must purchase a Jamboree Pass which includes access to the 4-day event, camping on-site and participate in trips. Pricing for the pass is being finalised and will be advised shortly. Tickets for attending the Sunday dinner will be sold separately. There will be adult and child pricing for dinner. I can only come along for one day. What is the cost?
There is one 2021 National Jeep Jamboree pass. This will cover your attendance at the event, no matter if you come along for a day, or two, or the whole weekend.
Who should attend the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree?
Every Jeep owner should make the pilgrimage to a Jeep Jamboree once in their lifetime! Get together with fellow owners from your location and make up a convoy (there’s safety in numbers!).
May I bring my Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Patriot, Grand Cherokee, SRT or Commander?
All Jeep models are welcome, from the original historic military Willys, CJ, Scrambler, Jeepster, FC, DJ, FJ, SJ Wagoneer, the original Gladiator, XJ, Wrangler (YJ, TJ, JK, JL), Grand Cherokee, SRT, Cherokee, Commander, Compass, and Patriot.
Where do I sleep at the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree?
Unpowered camping areas will be provided on-site. There are also a wide variety of other accommodation options for you to explore in the area ranging from basic campgrounds, motels, hotels, boutique locations and more.
Can we reserve a spot for our club/group to camp?
Yes, have a chat to the Jamboree organising committee to discuss what size you think you will need. A location can be reserved for you.
What facilities will be available to campers on-site?
Toilets, showers, rubbish and recycling facilities will be available.
What catering will be provided at the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree?
The highlight of the social events will be the Sunday night dinner. This will be a fully catered sit-down meal on-site, with entertainment following the meal to get you up and Jeepin’ around. Tickets for the dinner must be purchased in addition to your attendance pass. Links to ticket sales will be posted up soon. A small number of other food options will be available on-site daily.
Where can I get supplies and meals at other times to the Sunday night dinner?
The area has several restaurants, cafés and take away options. There are also bakeries, greengrocers and chain supermarkets in town where you can stock up on provisions for lunch on the trails or to whip up a storm back at the campsite.
Can I bring alcohol on site?
The event will be applying for a BYO liquor licence. Note: responsible drinking will be your responsibility, overconsumption will see you removed from the site for the remainder of the weekend. Of course, all drivers must comply with Victorian road regulations concerning allowable BAC.
I would love to attend, but I don’t think my Jeep will make it. Can I still fly in and come along?
Of course you can. You can’t take your hire car out on the 4-wheel drive trips, but there will be plenty of other Jeeps heading out. Ask around and you could pick up a spare seat in another vehicle. Alternatively, hang around at Jamboree Central, enjoy the Show and Shine, chat with the suppliers in Trade Alley, visit local tourist attractions and come along to the Sunday night dinner.
Will I be the only Jamboree Newbie?
No, there will be a mix of first-timers and experienced Jeepers. Some have been travelling the world attending Jamborees. Make sure you seek them out to get the low down on what other Jeep events are being planned.
Who is hosting the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree?
The Melbourne Jeep Owners Club (MJOC) is hosting the 2021 National Jeep Jamboree. MJOC is the largest Jeep Owners Club in Australia and is based in Melbourne, Australia. MJOC ran the 2004 Jamboree, and the hugely successful 2010 Jeep Jamboree which attracted nearly 350 Jeeps, with over 950 people attending. MJOC experienced trip leaders will be leading trips at the 2021 Jeep Jamboree and have extensive knowledge of the High Country and Australian Alps.
I’ve never taken my Jeep 4-wheeling, can I go on a trip?
Our experienced trip leaders will be able to suggest what trip is best for you based on your level of experience and vehicle capability.
I’m an experienced 4-wheeler, will there be challenging trips?
MJOC trip leaders have significant experience running trips across the full spectrum and have local knowledge of some of the most challenging drives in the country. You will not be disappointed.
I would like to run a trip with my friends, can I do this?
Only trips run by 2021 National Jeep Jamboree trip leaders will be supported and endorsed by the Jamboree organising committee. Independent travel to and from the event and non-endorsed trips will not be covered by event insurance.
What are the minimum vehicle requirements?
Your Jeep must be road registered in its home state. It must be in good condition, with good tyres, brakes and seatbelts. Organisers will have the final say on who can participate on trips.
What special equipment does my Jeep need to participate in 2021 National Jeep Jamboree 4-wheel drive trips?
UHF 2-way radio. This will help you communicate with the trip leader about obstacles, safety concerns. It also helps you feel part of the team as you talk with other attendees along the way. A full-size spare. Front and rear recovery points (can be a tow receiver hitch with pin). First aid kit for personal use and fire extinguisher. For the more difficult trips, a 4-wheel drive system with low-range (4-Lo) transfer case. All-Terrain (A/T) tyres (some more difficult trips may require mud terrain off-road tyres). Recovery gear including snatch strap rated shackle and winch extension strap. Available from most 4x4 stores. What else should I bring on trips? Snacks and drinks. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED ON ANY TRIPS. Lunch if you are out for the whole day. Warm clothes (some trips may head up over 1500m elevation, conditions change quickly) Appropriate footwear Insect repellent, sunscreen Camera A small folding chair for lunch stops. Could my vehicle be damaged or break down on a trip? Organisers and trip leaders will make every effort to minimise damage. Participants are advised to closely follow instructions given by trip leaders and officials. There is a possibility of damage when travelling in rough terrain and any damage and recovery of disabled vehicles is the owner’s responsibility. A quality breakdown recovery service such as RACV Total Care or your state equivalent is highly recommended. While organisers will assist where possible, recovery of breakdowns including in remote areas is the owner’s responsibility.
Can my friend who owns a Nissan also participate?
Only if he or she rides in your Jeep! Only Jeep vehicles will be allowed to participate in trips.
Can I purchase special 2021 National Jeep Jamboree merchandise, clothing and gear?
